Job summary

Signet Health, a national leader in behavioral health, seeks a Director of Nursing (DON) to lead a 24-bed adult inpatient psychiatric unit and oversee nursing services within the PHP and ED Behavioral Health at MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital Center in Clinton, MD.

The DON will drive clinical excellence, mentor staff, and lead initiatives that improve patient outcomes in a mission-driven, collaborative environment. Requires MSN and 5+ years of leadership in psychiatric settings.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) with a minimum of 5 years of nursing leadership experience in an inpatient, hospital-based psychiatric setting.
• Active Maryland RN license or eligibility for endorsement required.
• Psychiatric nursing or nursing administration certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Directs quality and utilization standards to ensure patient-centered, cost-effective care.
• Leads clinical and nursing operations, including staffing and performance management.
• Champions a patient-first culture and maintains leadership visibility through daily rounding.
• Ensures seamless care transitions and regulatory readiness with ongoing readiness.
• Collaborates with physicians and partners to improve outcomes and resolve issues.
