Job summary

Nu Roc Health and Rehabilitation in Laona, Wisconsin is seeking an experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our nursing department. You will coach the nursing leadership team, oversee staffing, budgeting, and clinical operations, and drive high-quality resident care with accountability and compassion.

Qualifications

• Active Wisconsin RN license required.
• Leadership experience in a skilled nursing facility required.
• Director of Nursing, Assistant Director of Nursing, RN Unit Manager or similar leadership experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of CMS regulations, state survey processes, infection prevention, and long-term care operations.

What You'll Do

Lead all nursing operations while creating a culture built on accountability, teamwork, compassion, and clinical excellence.

• Lead, mentor, coach, and develop the nursing leadership team
• Recruit, retain, and inspire outstanding nursing professionals
• Foster a positive workplace culture that promotes employee engagement and retention
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations
• Maintain survey readiness and drive quality outcomes
• Partner with the Nursing Home Administrator and interdisciplinary leadership team
• Oversee staffing, scheduling, budgeting, and clinical operations
• Monitor quality measures and implement performance improvement initiatives
• Build strong relationships with residents, families, physicians, and team members

Qualifications

• Active Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• Previous leadership experience in a skilled nursing facility required
• Director of Nursing, Assistant Director of Nursing, RN Unit Manager, or other nursing leadership experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of CMS regulations, state survey process, infection prevention, quality improvement, and long term care operations
• Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop high performing teams
• Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
• Passion for developing people, strengthening teamwork, and creating an environment where employees feel supported and residents receive exceptional care
