Job summary

Greenbrier Senior Living at Maris Pointe in Venice, Florida seeks an experienced Director of Nursing (LPN or RN) to lead the resident care team. The role emphasizes compassionate leadership, team development, and regulatory compliance to deliver exceptional care to residents and families.

Qualifications

• Current Florida LPN or RN license required.
• Minimum of 2 years of progressively responsible experience in senior living or related healthcare setting.
• Nursing leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of resident assessments, care planning, medication management, and regulatory compliance.

Maris Pointe, a premier senior living community in Venice, Florida, is seeking an experienced and compassionate Director of Nursing (LPN or RN) to lead our resident care team.

As Director of Nursing, you will play a key leadership role within the community, overseeing resident care, supporting and developing the nursing team, maintaining regulatory compliance, and partnering with community leadership to ensure the highest standards of care.

What You'll Do

• Provide leadership and oversight for the community's nursing and resident care services.
• Lead, support, coach, and develop nursing and care team members.
• Ensure resident services are provided in accordance with applicable state and federal regulations, community policies, and established standards of care.
• Participate in pre-admission assessments for prospective residents.
• Complete and oversee admission, periodic, and change-of-condition resident assessments.
• Review and revise resident care plans based on individual needs and changes in physical or psychosocial condition.
• Coordinate with physicians, pharmacies, healthcare providers, families, and other members of the resident care team.
• Review and transcribe physician orders and ensure appropriate follow-through.
• Oversee medication management and administration practices in accordance with applicable regulations and community policies.
• Assist with the coordination of medical, dental, laboratory, and other healthcare appointments as appropriate.
• Participate in staff development, training, and education programs.
• Maintain compliance with personnel policies, community procedures, and applicable healthcare regulations.
• Understand and implement emergency preparedness, fire safety, and evacuation procedures.
• Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, compassion, and exceptional resident service.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by community leadership.

What We’re Looking For

• Current Florida LPN or RN license required
• Minimum of 2 years of progressively responsible experience in senior living, assisted living, long-term care, or a related healthcare setting
• Previous nursing leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred
• Strong knowledge of resident assessments, care planning, medication management, and regulatory compliance
• Excellent leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to build positive relationships with residents, families, associates, physicians, and outside healthcare partners
• Dependable and able to meet the scheduling and leadership needs of the community
