Job summary

Franciscan Care Center, part of CHI Living Communities, seeks a Director of Nursing to lead nursing services and ensure high-quality resident care in a long-term care setting.

The role requires strong geriatric nursing expertise, substantial management experience, CPR certification, and experience with MDS/RAP and care planning. This on-site position offers a competitive salary and opportunities to impact facility quality.

Qualifications

• At least five years of clinical experience in geriatric nursing.
• At least five years of management experience.
• Currently CPR certified.
• Experience in long-term care with MDS/RAP summaries, care planning, and Total Quality Improvement knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitors and improves the overall quality of nursing services in the assigned units.
• Maintains effective communication with interdisciplinary team, residents, families, physicians and staff.
• Performs nursing care activities as needed.
• Participates in development, implementation and evaluation of facility performance improvement program.
• In collaboration with the Administrator, operates the assigned nursing units per established CHI Living Communities policies and procedures.
• Oversees the Staff Development Manager/Nurse to plan and schedule in-service training.

Job Responsibilities

• Monitors and improves the overall quality of services in Nursing provided in the assigned nursing units
• Maintains effective communication with interdisciplinary team, residents, families, physicians and staff.
• Performs activities related to nursing care needs of residents as needed.
• Participates in the development, implementation and evaluation of facility performance improvement program.
• In collaboration with the Administrator, operates the assigned nursing units in accordance with established policies and procedures of CHI Living Communities.
• Provides oversight to the Staff Development Manager/Nurse to develop, plan, conduct and schedule in-service training classes that ensure a well-educated nursing service department.

Job Requirements

• Currently certified in CPR.
• Experience in long-term care facility and with MDS/RAP Summaries and care planning and a working knowledge of Total Quality Improvement process preferred.
