Job summary

San Bruno Skilled Nursing is seeking a Director of Nursing (DON) to lead the nursing department and oversee resident care in San Bruno, CA. The DON ensures staffing, quality clinical care, regulatory compliance, and adherence to policies.

Ideal candidate has an active RN license in CA, at least 2 years of RN experience with ADON leadership, BSN preferred, and a track record of staff development and improving clinical outcomes.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in California.
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience.
• Prior ADON or nursing leadership experience required.
• BSN preferred.
• Strong knowledge of skilled nursing facility operations and regulatory requirements.
• Experience with PCC and MS Office preferred.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills; ability to motivate a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to resident-centered care and quality improvement.

Position Summary

The Director of Nursing is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and supervision of the nursing department. This role ensures appropriate staffing, quality clinical care, regulatory compliance, and the consistent implementation of nursing policies and procedures.

The DON works closely with facility leadership, physicians, residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members to promote resident safety, improve clinical outcomes, and maintain the highest standards of care.

Qualifications

• Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing with the California Board of Registered Nursing.


• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience.


• Prior Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) experience required.


• Previous nursing leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred.


• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.


• Strong knowledge of skilled nursing facility operations, clinical standards, and regulatory requirements.


• Experience with PointClickCare (PCC) and Microsoft Office applications preferred.


• Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.


• Ability to develop, motivate, and lead a multidisciplinary nursing team.
