Your Job

The Registered Nurse will be responsible for the administration and management of Nursing Services to residents in accordance with orders of the physicians and total needs of the residents. The Director of Nursing will inherit a 5-star facility with a deficiency-free survey. The RN will oversee the 24-hour supervision of Nursing Services and direct the Nursing Department to maintain quality standards of care in accordance with Federal, State, and company standards, guidelines, and regulations. In the absence of the Administrator, the Director of Nursing will assume responsibility for the center's operations. This position will conduct the nursing process—assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation—under the scope of the State’s Nurse Practice Act of Registered Nurse licensure.

Principal Responsibilities

• Coordinate plans for the total care of each resident, complying with physician’s orders, governmental regulations, and facility policies.
• Communicate and interpret policies and procedures to nursing staff; monitor staff practices and implementation.
• Participate in admissions decisions and visit prospective residents before admission.
• Attend daily and weekly management team meetings to discuss resident status, census changes, personnel, or complaints.
• Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned or changed at any time with or without notice.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the practicing state.
• Associate or Bachelor Degree from an accredited nursing school required.
• Five years in long-term or acute health care preferred; at least 2 years of nursing supervisory experience required.
