Job summary

Ottawa Health Care Center, now under new management, is seeking a Director of Nursing to lead our nursing team and elevate resident care. The DON will mentor staff, develop care plans, and ensure compassionate, high-quality service across all residents.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the appropriate state.
• Two years supervisory experience preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to collaborate with other healthcare professionals.
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients’ health needs and develop and implement care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor patients’ vital signs and report changes to staff.
• Communicate with patients and families to provide education and support.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and ensure continuity of treatment.
• Document patients’ progress and outcomes using electronic medical records.
• Stay up-to-date with current nursing research and best practices.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to maintain and improve skills.
• Assist with hands-on patient care as needed to support the team.
