Essenti Talent is seeking a Director of Nursing (RN) for an on-site role in Fair Lawn, NJ. The leader will oversee clinical care standards, supervise nursing staff, ensure regulatory compliance, and develop operations policies to deliver high-quality home-based care.

The role requires an RN license in NJ, a BSN or related field (or equivalent RN experience), and strong leadership skills. Travel is not emphasized, but driving may be required for client home visits.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in NJ.
• BSN or related health field with at least 2 years RN experience in community/home health.
• In lieu of BSN: 3 years RN experience in community/home health with progressive responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of NJ nursing rules, regulations, and state compliance for leadership.
• Exceptional prioritization, multitasking, and organization in dynamic settings.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate home care services reflecting agency standards and monitor clients’ clinical status.
• Assign nurses to client visits, optimize per diem supervisor budget, assist in hiring and onboarding.
• Evaluate nurse supervisors and care partners for performance and outcomes.
• Ensure safe, high-quality home care; comply with local, state, federal and HIPAA regulations.
• Conduct client assessments during initial visits, follow-ups, re-assessments or discharges.
• Develop and deliver the agency’s In-Service training program and coordinate guest presenters.

Director of Nursing

Compensation: $95,000 – $110,000 per year

Job Type: Full-Time, On-site

Location: Fair Lawn, NJ

A premier home health agency is seeking an experienced, leadership-minded Director of Nursing (RN) to oversee clinical care standards and lead their dedicated nursing team. In this pivotal role, you will manage and supervise nursing staff, ensure strict regulatory compliance, and develop operational policies to deliver exceptional, high-quality care in a home setting. This role also oversees all care partners, providing the guidance, support, and direction necessary for optimal care delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate the delivery of home care services that reflect agency philosophy and standards. Actively monitor the clinical status of all clients
• Manage the assignment of nurses to client visits, optimize the per diem nurse supervisor budget, and assist in the hiring process (interviewing, orientation, competency testing)
• Evaluate nurse supervisors and care partners
• Ensure the safe and high-quality delivery of home care services. Maintain strict adherence to local, state, federal, and HIPAA regulations
• Perform client assessments as needed during any stage of the client relationship, including initial assessments, monitoring visits, re-assessments, or discharges
• Develop the agency's In-Service training program and coordinate guest presenters or directly deliver educational content to all staff
• Coordinate with community agencies to provide continuity of care. Communicate effectively with clients, family members, and Care Partners
• Remain available via telephone to provide guidance and conduct home visits, if necessary, during designated Agency On-Call Hours
• Maintain a positive, professional attitude, actively participate in office meetings, and proudly represent the organization at community events
• Reports to the CEO

Qualifications:

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing issued by the New Jersey Board of Nursing
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or related health-related field with at least 2 years of professional RN experience in community or home health settings
• In lieu of a BSN degree: 3 years of professional RN experience in community health and/or home health, featuring progressive nursing responsibilities
• Proven background providing nursing services across patient home environments and assisted living facilities, with expert-level knowledge of New Jersey rules, regulations, and state compliance standards for nursing leadership
• Exceptional prioritization, multitasking, and organizational skills, with a demonstrated ability to remain flexible in a dynamic environment
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Physical capability to perform required nursing duties (lifting, bending, standing) and the leadership resilience needed to thrive in a fast-paced, high-stress care environment
