Job summary

Great Lakes Management in Eau Claire, WI is seeking a Director of Nursing to lead our health services team in an assisted living community. You will oversee clinical operations, ensure compliant resident care, and mentor staff to deliver compassionate, high-quality service.

An RN license in Wisconsin is required; supervisory experience in an assisted living setting is preferred; excellent communication and organization are essential.

Qualifications

• RN (Registered Nurse) licensed in Wisconsin.
• Supervisory experience in an Assisted Living setting preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Proficiency in using resident record computerized systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of rules and regulations and apply standards to the community.
• Ensure residents’ needs and preferences are met with compassion and dignity.
• Support the team with clinical supervision through defined roles, staffing, processes, and metrics.
• Adhere to best practice models to deliver high-quality, compliant resident-centered care.
• Implement and standardize policies, personnel management, quality improvement, and documentation.
• Collaborate with the Executive Director on performance management and staff development.
• Investigate and report incidents of suspected resident neglect or abuse to county officials.

Director of Nursing Responsibilities:

• As a key member of the Assisted Living leadership team, the Director of Nursing (DON) is responsible for maintaining up-to-date knowledge of rules and regulations, keeping informed of industry standards, and applying knowledge to meet the changing needs of the community.
• Ensure residents’ individual needs and preferences are consistently met with compassion and dignity, fostering a nurturing and empowering environment in the community.
• Supports the team in achieving high quality and efficient delivery of care with appropriate clinical supervision through standard role definitions, staffing models, clinical processes, and metric monitoring.
• Adherence to clinical best practice models and processes to deliver consistent high quality, efficient and compliant resident centered care.
• Implementation and standardization in the areas of policies and procedures, personnel management, quality improvement, compliance, clinical documentation.
• Collaborates with the Executive Director to provide ongoing performance management and development, focusing on high engagement and collaboration while promoting high levels of satisfaction and retention with staff.
• Investigating and reporting incidents of suspected resident neglect and/or abuse and reporting these findings to appropriate county officials, in coordination with the Executive Director.
• Leads by example, ensure outstanding attention to detail in resident care and wellbeing, demonstrate effective communication.
• Collaborates with Executive Director and Regional Team in determining staffing needs based on resident care levels to maintain quality care and safety.

Director of Nursing Qualifications:
