Healthcare Nursing of Cherry Hill is seeking a Nursing Supervisor to oversee nursing services in a long-term care facility, ensuring high-quality patient care and regulatory compliance. The role requires a BSN or MSN, active New Jersey RN license, and a minimum of two years of supervisory experience in long-term care; behavioral health experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and ensure quality of nursing care.
  • Provide weekly supervision to ADONs.
  • Support Nursing Leadership via weekly meetings.
  • Maintain at least one RN on duty and review monthly schedules.
  • Review 24-hour nursing reports and resolve issues.
  • Adhere to Nursing Department budget and supervise supply orders.
  • Coordinate nursing with other services to ensure continuum of care.
  • Represent Nursing in staff committees (Policy, Pharmacy, Infection Control, Utilization Review, CQI, Safety).
  • Develop and update job descriptions; review competency evaluations.
  • Ensure timely incident/accident report documentation.
  • Administer disciplinary actions fairly.
  • Assist administrator enforcing Resident Care Policies.
  • Work with other departments to improve teamwork.
  • Prepare for State Survey with CQI data.
  • Supervise MDS 3.0 Coordinators; ensure accuracy.
  • Provide in-service training on MDS 3.0.
  • Monitor monthly Pharmacy/Psychoactive/Pain Management reports and QA audits.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Graduate of an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Nursing
  2. Currently registered in New Jersey, by state examination and experienced in supervision and teaching.
  3. Minimum of two years of supervisory experience in long term care. Behavioral Health experience preferred.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Performs nursing services based on the facility policies and procedures as regulated by the Stateand Federal law.

PART 1: JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND STANDARDS

PERFORMANCE

1. Responsible for direction, provision and quality of Nursing care.

a. Provides guidance and training to ADON and DON’s in training.

b. Provides weekly supervision to ADON’s to discuss and review key issues.

c. Provides support to Nursing Leadership through weekly meetings.

2. Responsible for ensuring one registered professional nurse is on duty at all times and reviews monthly Nursing schedules.

3. Reviews nursing 24 hour reports and brings issues for resolution to the daily morning meeting.

4. Makes every effort to adhere to Nursing Department budget as developed by administration; supervises ordering of medical supplies.

5. Responsible for coordinating and integrating nursing services with other patient care services to provide a continuum of care for the patients.

6. Participates in representing the Nursing Service in the facility’s staff committees including Patient Care Policy, Pharmacy, Infection Control, Utilization Review and CQI and Safety.

7. Responsible in the development and periodic update of written job description for each level of Nursing Personnel. Reviews and signs competency evaluation of personnel.

8. Ensures completion, documentation of Incident/Accident Reports in a timely manner.

9. Ensures that disciplinary action is administered fairly and without regard to race, color, creed, national origin, age, sex, religion, handicap or marital status.

10. Assists the administrator in the enforcement of Resident Care Policies.

11. Works as a team member with all other departments/auxiliary services

12. Prepares Department of Nursing for State Survey through monitoring of CQI data and systems in place.

13. Provide direct Supervision to companywide MDS 3.0 Coordinators in all buildings to ensure accuracy and timeliness of assessments.

14. Provides In-Service training to Nursing in accuracy, scoring and assessment as it relates to MDS 3.0.

15. Monitors compliance with Monthly Pharmacy Consultant Reports, Monthly Psychoactive Summary Reports and Monthly Pain Management Summary Reports

16. Develops plans of corrections and training to all MDS Coordinator based on outcome of QA audits.

PART III: PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB

EMPLOYEE IS REQUIRED TO:

1. Demonstrate ability to handle stressful situations.

2. Must be able to write & speak the English language in an understandable manner.

3. Ability to relate and work with the physically and emotionally challenged resident.

4. Must function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity & ability to work effectively with resident, family members, personnel & support agencies.

5. Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday.

6. Must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
