Job summary

MedCadre in the United States is seeking a Director of Nursing (DON) to oversee the nursing department and ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality patient and resident care across all units.

The DON will supervise nursing staff, develop policies, monitor care quality, manage staffing and scheduling, and lead trainings and evaluations while collaborating with physicians, administrators, families, and other care professionals.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead nursing staff, including RNs, LPNs, and CNAs.
• Develop and maintain nursing policies, procedures, and standards.
• Monitor the quality of patient/resident care and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Manage staffing, scheduling, and nursing department operations.
• Conduct staff training, orientation, and performance evaluations.
• Review patient care plans, assessments, and clinical documentation.
• Collaborate with physicians, administrators, residents, families, and other healthcare professionals.
• Monitor infection control, medication management, and patient safety practices.
• Address clinical concerns, incidents, and changes in patient/resident conditions.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and facility regulations.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and audits.
• Provide leadership and support to the nursing team.
