Job summary

KDVR/KWGN is seeking a Director of Multiplatform Content in Colorado Springs. You will lead content strategy across FOX21+ streaming, digital, social, and broadcast platforms to grow local audiences and deliver compelling journalism.

You will create streaming content, anchor a streaming studio newscast, and collaborate with teams to expand FOX21's reach with innovative storytelling and original programming.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of experience in digital journalism, newsroom operations, newsroom management, or a related field preferred.
• Experience with vMix or OBS streaming system preferred.
• Strong news judgment and the ability to work quickly in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a solid understanding of AP Style.
• Ability to independently research, verify information, and produce accurate news content.
• Comfortable balancing multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across newsroom teams.
• Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to evolving newsroom workflows.

Responsibilities

• Inspire and encourage staff to contribute original content via the vMix streaming studio.
• Serve as a multimedia journalist by reporting, writing, shooting, editing, and producing original content for broadcast, streaming, digital, and social platforms.
• Develop enterprise stories and feature content highlighting Southern Colorado's people and issues.
• Create content optimized for multiplatform distribution and audience engagement.
• Anchor the weekday FOX21+ 4:30-5:00 p.m. newscast from the streaming studio for linear broadcast.
• Produce and host original streaming series based on passions and interests.
• Serve as a newsroom leader in multiplatform storytelling and digital content strategy.
• Collaborate across departments to develop new content initiatives, special projects, and community partnerships.
• Champion innovative storytelling techniques and emerging digital trends to strengthen audience engagement.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

The Director of Multiplatform Content is a senior newsroom leader responsible for creating, developing, and executing content strategies across FOX21's digital, streaming, social, and broadcast platforms. This role serves as a key driver of audience growth and content innovation, ensuring FOX21 delivers compelling local journalism and content wherever viewers choose to consume it.

This position combines content leadership with hands-on storytelling, serving as a content creator, on-air talent, and architect of original programming for FOX21+ and other emerging platforms. The Director of Multiplatform Content works closely with the news director, digital EP, and producers to identify opportunities for audience engagement, develop new content initiatives, and expand FOX21's reach beyond traditional television newscasts.

Compensation Range

Annual Salary: $70,000+ depending on experience
