Job summary

Unity Technologies is seeking a Director of Machine Learning to lead the User Value team in Mountain View. You will guide the ML roadmap and align capabilities with product strategy, mentoring scientists and ML engineers to deliver high-value outcomes for advertisers and users.

You will oversee the development and deployment of scalable ML systems—personalization, content recommendation, multi-task learning, RL, and LLM integration—ensuring high availability, low latency, and measurable business

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in machine learning and software engineering
• 4+ years of experience managing teams
• Track record of shipping ML systems at scale (personalization, recommendations, IR, behavioral modeling)
• Understanding of ML metrics (accuracy, NDCG, precision-recall) and business impact
• Advanced degree or equivalent practical experience in a quantitative field

Responsibilities

• Define 1-3 year technical roadmap for user value modeling
• Mentor, recruit, and retain a team of applied scientists and ML engineers
• Partner with Product, Design, and Data Science to identify opportunities where ML adds value
• Oversee scalable ML systems including personalization, recommendations, RL, and LLM integration
• Establish rigorous frameworks for A/B testing and model evaluation
