Position Summary
The Director of Marketing leads the development and execution of the marketing strategy for The Wall Street Hotel, supporting the hotel’s commercial objectives while strengthening its position within the luxury hospitality market.
Reporting to the Director of Sales & Marketing, this role serves as the hotel’s day-to-day marketing leader and translates business priorities into compelling, measurable marketing initiatives across rooms, food and beverage, meetings and events, partnerships, digital, social media, public relations, and brand communications.
The Director of Marketing is expected to combine strategic thinking, strong creative judgment and commercial acumen with a high level of independent ownership. This individual will proactively identify opportunities, develop recommendations, lead agency partners, and ensure all marketing activity reflects the positioning, standards, and long-term objectives of The Wall Street Hotel.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing Strategy and Brand Leadership
- Lead the development and execution of the hotel’s annual and quarterly marketing strategy in partnership with the Director of Sales & Marketing.
- Translate hotel revenue goals, need periods and business priorities into integrated marketing campaigns and initiatives.
- Maintain and protect the hotel’s brand positioning, voice, visual identity and standards across all guest-facing channels.
- Identify emerging marketing opportunities, challenges and trends and proactively bring forward strategic recommendations.
- Maintain a strong understanding of the luxury hospitality landscape, New York City market and competitive set to inform marketing strategy and positioning.
- Partner with hotel leadership to ensure marketing priorities support both near-term commercial goals and long-term asset value.
Digital Marketing and E-Commerce
- Lead the hotel’s digital marketing strategy across paid search, paid social, metasearch, display, email and other digital channels.
- Manage day-to-day relationships with digital agency partners, establishing objectives, campaign priorities, budgets and performance expectations.
- Review digital performance and evaluate traffic, conversion, bookings, revenue contribution, return on advertising spend and other relevant KPIs.
- Partner with Revenue Management and agency partners to develop recommendations based on performance, need periods and market conditions.
- Oversee website content, offers, imagery and merchandising to ensure accuracy, brand consistency and strong conversion.
- Manage the email marketing strategy, calendar, content, deployment and reporting.
Agency Management
- Serve as the primary day-to-day marketing contact for external digital, social media, public relations, creative and other agency partners.
- Develop clear briefs, priorities, timelines, and deliverables, and hold partners accountable for quality and performance.
- Critically evaluate agency recommendations and provide strategic direction rather than relying solely on external partners to define strategy.
- Ensure learnings, reporting, and creative direction across agencies are connected into a cohesive hotel marketing strategy.
Social Media, Content and Creative Direction
- Lead the hotel’s social media strategy in partnership with the social media agency, ensuring content supports both brand and commercial objectives.
- Oversee the annual and monthly content calendar across social media, digital advertising, email, public relations, website and sales needs.
- Provide creative direction for photography, videography, digital advertising, social content, collateral and other brand assets.
- Develop creative briefs and oversee photo and video productions from concept through final asset delivery.
- Review imagery, layouts, copy, and creative concepts to ensure they consistently reflect the hotel’s luxury positioning and visual standards.
- Identify ongoing content needs and ensure the hotel maintains a strong and current library of photography and video assets.
Public Relations and Influencer Strategy
- Work closely with the Director of Sales & Marketing and public relations agency to develop and execute the hotel’s communications strategy.
- Support efforts to secure coverage across luxury travel, lifestyle, food and beverage, design, local and other relevant media.
- Manage media and influencer requests, including evaluating opportunities, coordinating stays and itineraries and ensuring appropriate follow-up.
- Identify storytelling opportunities tied to hotel programming, partnerships, food and beverage, design and destination.
Partnerships and Activations
- Identify and develop partnerships with luxury brands, cultural institutions, neighborhood businesses and other organizations that strengthen the hotel’s positioning.
- Lead marketing support for hotel activations, events and partnerships from concept development through execution and promotion.
- Evaluate partnership opportunities based on brand alignment, audience, commercial value, and overall strategic fit.
- Develop opportunities that deepen the hotel’s connection to Lower Manhattan and the broader New York City cultural landscape.
Commercial Collaboration
- Partner closely with Revenue Management, Sales, Food & Beverage and Events to ensure marketing initiatives support overall hotel performance.
- Develop and promote seasonal offers, packages and experiences that support need periods and priority segments.
- Support Sales with compelling collateral, presentations and marketing assets for corporate, group, entertainment, leisure and travel trade accounts.
- Develop marketing support for meetings, events, weddings and other revenue-generating opportunities.
- Participate actively in commercial, revenue and leadership meetings and bring forward marketing recommendations based on business performance.
Collateral and Brand Communications
- Oversee development and ongoing maintenance of hotel marketing collateral across print and digital channels.
- Ensure all materials remain accurate, current and consistent with brand standards.
- Lead creative development with designers, photographers, videographers, copywriters, and other partners as needed.
- Maintain brand consistency across hotel communications and ensure alignment with ownership and leadership expectations.
Reporting, Analytics and Budget Management
- Develop regular marketing performance reports summarizing key initiatives, campaign performance, KPIs, opportunities, and next steps.
- Present marketing performance and recommendations clearly to hotel leadership and ownership as required.
- Manage the marketing budget, including annual planning, forecasting, invoice coding, and tracking against plan.
- Evaluate marketing investments based on performance, commercial impact and strategic value.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and maximize return on marketing spend.
Internal Communication and Team Leadership
- Communicate upcoming campaigns, initiatives, partnerships and key marketing priorities to internal stakeholders.
- Serve as a marketing resource across hotel departments and ensure teams understand upcoming initiatives and guest-facing messaging.
- Manage and develop future marketing team members, coordinators, interns, or other support positions as the department evolves.
- Foster strong collaboration across Sales, Revenue, Food & Beverage, Events, Operations, and external partners.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Hospitality, Business, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 5–7 years of progressive marketing experience, ideally within luxury hospitality, travel, lifestyle or premium consumer brands.
- Demonstrated experience owning marketing strategy and managing multiple external agency partners.
- Experience with luxury hotel marketing, digital marketing, social media, public relations, partnerships, and content development strongly preferred.
- Previous experience managing budgets and analyzing campaign performance and return on investment.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong understanding of luxury consumer behavior, hospitality marketing and the New York City market.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to connect marketing activity to revenue, demand and hotel performance.
- Sophisticated creative judgment with a strong eye for photography, design, branding and storytelling.
- Ability to interpret digital marketing data and translate performance into actionable recommendations.
- Strong understanding of website content management, email marketing, web-based digital platforms, paid media and basic web analytics.

Base Salary: To be determined based on experience and market positioning.
Eligible for an annual performance-based incentive tied to hotel performance and individual objectives, subject to company policy.
