Position Summary

Heritage Grove Estates is seeking a skilled, dependable, and motivated Director of Maintenance to lead all aspects of facility maintenance, safety, and environmental services. This key leadership position is responsible for ensuring the building, grounds, equipment, and systems remain safe, functional, compliant, and well-maintained to support high-quality resident care.

The Director of Maintenance will oversee daily maintenance operations, develop and manage preventive maintenance programs, ensure compliance with applicable regulations, and supervise maintenance personnel. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong technical expertise, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to excellence.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Oversee the maintenance, repair, and replacement of facility equipment, machinery, systems, and appliances.
  • Maintain the building and grounds in a safe, clean, and attractive condition.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor a comprehensive preventive maintenance program.
  • Conduct routine inspections to identify maintenance needs and potential safety risks.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including life safety and fire safety requirements.
  • Coordinate and document required fire drills, safety checks, and emergency preparedness activities.
  • Supervise maintenance staff, including scheduling, training, coaching, and performance management.
  • Maintain inventory and ordering processes for maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment.
  • Manage departmental documentation, including maintenance logs, inspection reports, work orders, and regulatory records.
  • Collaborate with department leaders to support operational and resident needs.
  • Assist with resident property storage and maintenance-related requests as appropriate.
  • Ensure all maintenance projects and repairs meet quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to emergency maintenance situations as needed.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of maintenance experience, preferably in skilled nursing, long-term care, healthcare, or a similar environment.
  • Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, HVAC, and general facility maintenance.
  • Previous supervisory or management experience preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Basic computer skills for documentation, reporting, and communication.
  • Ability to work independently while effectively leading a team.
  • Availability to participate in on-call duties and respond to emergencies.
