Position Overview

This role is responsible for overseeing the entire maintenance department, including strategic planning, cross-department coordination, and management of installation, repair, and upkeep of facilities. The Technical Manager maintains critical systems, including maintenance, IT infrastructure, and automation, ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety throughout the production facility. The role reports directly to the General Manager and supports the Operations Manager, with both serving as backups.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategic maintenance plans aligned with company goals.
  • Identify process improvements and cost-saving opportunities in maintenance, IT, and automation.
  • Coordinate between maintenance, IT, and automation teams for system integration.
  • Work with production, engineering, and QA departments to prioritize maintenance tasks.
  • Lead and motivate the maintenance team, setting clear objectives and performance metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards, including GMP and HACCP.
  • Oversee maintenance of machinery, equipment, IT infrastructure, and automation systems.
  • Implement preventive maintenance schedules to reduce downtime.
  • Utilize technical expertise to troubleshoot and optimize systems.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and technological advancements.
  • Manage resources effectively to meet production targets.
  • Collaborate with regulatory agencies to maintain certifications.
  • Report on departmental performance and strategic initiatives to the General Manager.
  • Drive continuous improvement through new technologies and strategies.
  • Analyze performance data to identify and implement improvements.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering; Master’s preferred.
  • 5+ years in a technical leadership role within food manufacturing, focusing on maintenance, IT, and automation.
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and driving process improvements.
  • Knowledge of PLC programming, HMI, and automation troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of food safety standards (GMP, HACCP, FDA, USDA).
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, and automation engineering skills.
  • Experience with preventive, reliability-centered, and predictive maintenance.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
