Job summary

Faena Hotels & Residences in Miami Beach seeks a Beverage Manager to lead the beverage and wine program across the property, guiding the Sommelier team and ensuring Forbes Five-Star standards.

This hands-on leader will manage purchasing, inventory, education, and guest engagement to drive wine sales and guest satisfaction. A strong luxury hospitality background and sommelier certification are preferred; evenings and events require flexibility.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of luxury beverage experience in Five‑Star or luxury settings.
• Experience as Sommelier, Head Sommelier, Beverage Manager, or similar leadership role.
• Extensive knowledge of Old World and New World wines and regions.
• Sommelier certification preferred (CMS, WSET or equivalent).
• Experience leading and developing a sommelier/beverage team.
• Strong understanding of purchasing, inventory, cost controls, pricing, and profitability.
• Proven ability to grow wine/beverage sales through education and programming.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and guest-relations skills.
• Ability to operate in a high-volume luxury environment; flexible evenings/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise, schedule, and develop the Sommelier team across the property.
• Establish clear responsibilities, accountability, and operational coverage for the team.
• Provide daily directions and ensure sommelier presence based on business needs.
• Conduct regular coaching, training, and performance discussions.
• Ensure sommeliers support service, guest engagement, wine sales, and upselling.
• Partner with F&B leadership to recruit and develop strong sommelier talent.
• Create succession and development opportunities within the wine team.
• Lead strategic direction and day-to-day management of Faena's wine program.
• Maintain an exceptional wine selection for a luxury Five‑Star environment.
• Develop wine lists across restaurants, bars, events, theater, and venues.
• Evaluate vintages, regions, producers, pricing, and trends.
• Build relationships with distributors, wineries, and suppliers.
• Manage wine purchasing balancing quality, inventory, and financial objectives.
• Conduct wine education and tastings for sommeliers and leadership.
• Drive wine sales through thoughtful recommendations and pairing strategies.
• Partner with outlet leaders to develop and execute the overall beverage strategy.
• Oversee wine, spirits, beer, and other beverage selections for consistency with luxury positioning.
• Identify opportunities to enhance beverage offerings and guest experiences.
• Analyze beverage mix, trends, margins, and guest preferences to optimize the program.
• Maintain inventory controls, receiving, storage, transfers, requisitions.
• Ensure inventories, reports, and variances are addressed timely.
• Monitor beverage cost, pricing, margins, and profitability.
• Identify slow-moving inventory and improve turnover.
• Collaborate with Finance and F&B leadership on financial performance.
