Job summary

JPMorgan Chase is seeking a Director of eSoftware Engineering within the Global Electronic Trading Technology team in New York. You will lead the design and delivery of low-latency trading systems including Smart Order Router, Matching Engine, Market Access, and Risk Management.

The role requires 10+ years in software engineering with 5+ years guiding technologists, advanced C++14, multi-threading, Linux/Unix, and experience in ultra-low latency development and kernel tuning.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in software engineering with 10+ years of applied experience.
• 5+ years leading technologists to manage and solve complex items.
• Advanced knowledge of C++14+, including templates.
• Expertise in multi-threaded programming.
• Experience in TCP/IP networking and LBM/UME.
• Proven ultra-low latency development and kernel tuning experience.
• Strong system architecture and Linux/Unix proficiency.
• Familiarity with Agile, CI/CD, and SDLC processes.
• Exposure to Java and cloud technologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and implementation of low latency electronic trading systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into requirements.
• Drive strategic direction of electronic trading technology and regulatory alignment.
• Oversee end-to-end software development lifecycle from design to maintenance.
• Ensure scalability, performance, and reliability of trading systems.
• Conduct code reviews, unit and integration testing to ensure quality.
• Optimize system performance through kernel tuning and low-level programming.
• Manage and mentor a team of engineers fostering innovation and collaboration.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and regulatory changes affecting platforms.
