Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field is required.
• Minimum of two years’ experience in Adult Literacy Education or Adult Education.
• Minimum of two years supervisory experience.
• Experience managing a grant, including budget management and reporting, is required.

Responsibilities

• Annually secure federal and state literacy grants through the PA Department of Education.
• Pursue additional funding to support literacy programs.
• Implement PA Department of Education guidelines in practice.
• Administer budgets for various grants to maximize student impact.
• Administer and manage United Way Bilingual ESL and Spanish GED programs.
• Develop and promote non-credit ESL, GED, and language courses.
• Collaborate with the Adult Education Division of the PA Department of Education and the college.
• Supervise and verify data collection for the College and PA DOE.
• Provide professional development support to staff with the Professional Development Specialist.
• Maintain relationships with community agencies.
• Work with Career Programs and Workforce Development to develop new remediation courses.
• Attend PAACE conferences and partner meetings; participate in webinars.
• Supervise staff and work-study employees.
• Attend One Stop Partner Meetings at the Berks County Career Link Office.
• Facilitate Title II Information Sessions at the Berks County Career Link Office.
• Seek recruitment opportunities at job fairs and community events.
• Prepare reports for PA DOE, the College, and United Way.
• Other duties as assigned.
