Responsibilities of Director of Library Services:

• Oversee all aspects of upper school library including supervising library staff to promote an inclusive learning community.
• Maintain a library collection that supports student skill development.
• Collaborate with faculty members to design effective research programs that supports students' research, information literacy, and digital skills.
• Serve as an advisor for students ensuring student success.
• Develop professional development opportunities for faculty to expand skillset in research methods, information literacy, and utilizing library resources effectively.
• Assess current use of digital systems identifying needs for improvement, alignment, and faculty support.
• Manage annual library budget to ensure strategic allocation of resources.

Requirements of Director of Library Services:

• Master of Library Science (MLS) or equivalent advanced degree.
• Minimum of 3-5 years experience in K-12 library setting.
• Previous leadership or supervisor experience strongly preferred.
• Proven ability to develop and deliver information literacy curriculum.
• U.S. Work Authorization required.

Additional Desired Qualities:

• Experience working in independent schools preferred, but not required.
• Desire to be involved in school-wide initiatives and extracurricular activities.
