Job summary

GMG Solutions Group is creating a Director of Information Technology role to build and lead an internal IT function for approximately 65 users across four organizations. The role will transition technology services away from external partners and act as the technology leader for end‑user support, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and business applications.

The successful candidate will blend strategic leadership with hands‑on execution, aligning IT with business growth and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10+ years in progressive IT roles with leadership responsibilities.
• 5+ years leading IT operations, infrastructure, or service delivery.
• Experience supporting small‑to‑mid‑sized organizations in a hands‑on leadership role.
• Experience leading technology transitions or insourcing initiatives.
• Proven cybersecurity assessment and remediation experience.
• Experience managing third‑party vendors and service providers.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day IT support currently handled by external partners.
• Serve as primary escalation point for end‑user technology issues.
• Redesign and optimize Microsoft 365 tenant structure.
• Improve collaboration via Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive.
• Lead cybersecurity assessments and remediation initiatives.
• Manage endpoint security, identity management, backups, and DR.
• Develop and govern IT strategy, governance, and roadmaps.
• Manage IT vendors, consultants, contracts, and budgets.
• Define ownership and support for business applications.
• Advise executive leadership on technology direction.
