Job summary

Take Command is seeking a hands-on Director of IT & Information Security to lead corporate IT operations and own the information security program end-to-end from our Dallas, TX office, with hybrid or onsite arrangements. You will build a best-in-class function, manage a small team, and partner with executives to protect PHI and company data while enabling rapid growth.

The role demands 8+ years in IT/security, startup-relatable security leadership, and experience with HIPAA/SOC 2.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in IT ops and/or information security with 2–3 years in people management.
• Proven track record maturing security programs in startups.
• Experience in regulated industries such as health or insurance.
• Hands-on HIPAA and SOC 2 compliance knowledge and audit prep.
• Vendor management, budgeting, and SLA oversight.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Own IT operations including endpoint management, IAM, cloud services, and network systems.
• Lead information security program, policies, and controls including PHI protection.
• Design risk management, incident response, and business continuity planning.
• Manage IT vendors, contracts, and overall technology budget.
• Partner with Engineering/Product to embed security in SDLC and cloud infra.
• Build security awareness and lead security tooling deployments.
