Job summary

Avalyn is seeking a Director, Clinical Development Research Scientist to lead IPF/ILD clinical programs, shaping strategy from protocol to regulatory submissions. You will guide multi-study execution, data interpretation, and scientific communications, partnering with analytics, pharmacovigilance, translational science, and external experts to advance patients’ outcomes.

The role requires strategic thinking and hands-on clinical development experience, ensuring rigorous, patient-centered trial

Qualifications

• Advanced clinical or scientific degree with significant clinical research or development experience.
• Experience leading Phase 2/3 trials and cross-functional development teams.
• Strong understanding of IPF/ILD therapeutic landscape.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and scientific leadership across IPF/ILD programs and strategy.
• Lead protocol development, objectives, endpoints, and safety monitoring across studies.
• Oversee data review, safety/efficacy interpretation, and risk mitigation.
• Lead regulatory documentation, submissions, and interactions with health authorities.
• Foster cross-functional collaboration with Clinical Operations, Biostatistics, Regulatory Affairs, Pharmacovigilance, Data Management, and Translational Science.
• Provide leadership in investigator engagement, scientific communications, and external collaborations.
