Job summary

Potomac in Bethesda, MD seeks a Director of Investor Relations to bridge investment management, product development, and business development. You’ll present research on tax-loss harvesting, direct indexing, and hedge fund strategies to advisors and institutional allocators.

You will craft thought leadership content, lead fundraising efforts, and deepen client relationships with a focus on systematic investing and portfolio management. This is a high-visibility, on-site role in Bethesda, MD.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in Portfolio Management, Investment Research, Investor Relations, Institutional Sales, Investment Consulting, or Wealth/Asset Management.
• Strong presentation skills and executive presence.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong understanding of financial markets, portfolio construction, and risk management.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct investment research and evaluate investment strategies.
• Experience presenting to investment committees, boards, consultants, allocators, or due diligence teams.
• Experience using AI tools to improve research and productivity.

Responsibilities

Summary

As Director of Investor Relations, you'll sit at the intersection of investment management, product development, and business development. You'll serve as the trusted voice behind Potomac's tax-loss harvesting, direct indexing, and hedge fund strategies—presenting to advisors, consultants, family offices, and institutional allocators, and helping turn sophisticated research into relationships. This is a full-time, on-site position in Bethesda, MD.

What You'll Do

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in one or more of: Portfolio Management, Investment Research, Investor Relations, Institutional Sales, Investment Consulting, or Wealth/Asset Management.

• CFA, CMT, CAIA, CQF, or similar designation.
• Published research, market commentary, conference presentations, or other evidence of thought leadership.
