About the Role

Taoshi is seeking a Director of Investments to lead licensing, regulatory compliance, and client portfolio management as we transition Taoshi into a Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) and introduce our automated trading platform subsidiary, Glitch Financial, to US customers. This role will oversee business development and compliance oversight to meet regulatory requirements while managing our trading strategies and developing strategic relationships. The Director of Investments will obtain and maintain proper licenses (specifically a Series 65 and Series 3) and ensure alignment with industry standards. We are looking to expand our financial services and are exploring operating a hedge fund that trades forex, equities, crypto, and commodities. Our specialized team will continue to manage trading strategies and deliver a world-class SaaS trading platform via Glitch Financial.

All team members work remotely.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $180,000 - $220,000, with additional performance-based bonuses, equity options, and benefits.

Key Responsibilities

Regulatory Licensing & Compliance:

  1. Secure and maintain the necessary regulatory licenses, including Series 65 and Series 3, to ensure full compliance for operating as an RIA and a commodity advisor.
  2. Develop and implement compliance strategies to meet all regulatory requirements across asset classes including forex, equities, crypto, commodities, and ETFs.
  3. Liaise with legal and regulatory bodies to facilitate smooth licensing processes, timely filings, and adherence to industry standards.
  4. Oversee the management of clients and portfolios, ensuring they comply with regulatory standards and align with Taoshi’s strategic objectives.
  5. Collaborate with the trading strategy team to ensure that investment performance is accurately communicated to clients and stakeholders.
  6. Supervise the preparation and distribution of performance reports, regulatory filings, and essential documentation.

Business Development & Client Relationship Management:

  1. Serve as the primary liaison with clients, institutional investors, and strategic partners, fostering long-term relationships.
  2. Drive business development initiatives to expand our client base and uncover new investment opportunities.
  3. Identify and pursue strategic partnerships to enhance Taoshi’s market position and growth prospects.

Strategic Collaboration:

  1. Work cross-functionally with internal teams including legal, compliance, trading, and data science to ensure a cohesive operational strategy.
  2. Provide strategic insights and recommendations to executive leadership to support ongoing growth and regulatory excellence.

Required Qualifications

Licensing & Experience:

  1. Mandatory: Possession of active Series 65 and Series 3 licenses (or the ability to obtain them promptly) is required to meet our compliance standards for operating as an RIA and hedge fund.
  2. 10+ years of experience in financial services, with a strong focus on regulatory licensing, compliance, or client portfolio management.
  3. Proven track record managing client funds and portfolios in a regulated environment.

Education & Certifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  2. Advanced degrees or certifications such as CFA, CAIA, etc., are a plus.
  3. In-depth knowledge of RIA requirements, licensing processes, and regulatory compliance related to multiple asset classes.
  4. Strong analytical, organizational, and strategic planning skills.
  5. Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, with experience engaging regulatory bodies, clients, and internal stakeholders.
  6. Demonstrated success in driving business development initiatives and managing complex client relationships.
  7. Familiarity with forex, equities, crypto, commodities, and ETFs is beneficial.

Recommended Qualifications

  1. Experience in the crypto space and/or decentralized finance.
  2. Prior experience balancing compliance management with business development responsibilities.
  3. A proactive, innovative approach suited to a fast-paced, evolving financial environment.

Join us at Taoshi and play a critical role in ensuring our operations meet the highest regulatory standards while driving business development and client success. We look forward to receiving your application!
