Job summary

DSJ Global is seeking a Director of Inventory Management in Manhattan, NY for a hybrid role. You will lead enterprise-wide inventory strategies and optimize accuracy, turns, and control across a global distribution network.

You will own SOX compliance, drive inventory governance, and build dashboards and KPIs while partnering with Supply Chain, Finance, Operations, and IT to enhance ERP/WMS systems. A senior leadership position with impactful visibility.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in inventory management or related roles.
• 5+ years in leadership of inventory/warehouse teams.
• Experience with cycle counts, physical inventories, reconciliations, and audits.
• Knowledge of SOX, inventory valuation, and compliance.
• Hands-on ERP/WMS experience.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Strong analytical and stakeholder management abilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

Director of Inventory Management

Lead inventory strategy for a globally recognized consumer products organization. We're partnering with a growing international company seeking a Director of Inventory Management to oversee inventory strategy across distribution and fulfillment operations. This is a highly visible leadership role responsible for inventory accuracy, internal controls, operational efficiency, and inventory optimization. You'll work closely with Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, and Commercial teams while building best‑class inventory processes across a complex global network.

What You'll Own

• Develop and execute enterprise-wide inventory management strategies
• Drive improvements in inventory accuracy, inventory turns, and reduction of excess and obsolete stock
• Lead cycle count programs, physical inventories, reconciliations, and inventory audits
• Ensure accurate inventory valuation and support financial reporting requirements
• Own inventory-related SOX controls and maintain compliance with internal and external audit standards
• Develop inventory dashboards, KPIs, and performance reporting tools
• Establish inventory governance, policies, and standard operating procedures
• Review inventory adjustments, write-offs, scrap transactions, and inventory controls
• Partner with Supply Chain, Finance, Operations, and IT to optimize ERP and inventory management systems
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on inventory optimization and operational excellence
• Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing inventory management team

What We're Looking For

**Must have experience in Consumer Goods or 3PLS**

• 10+ years of inventory management, warehousing, distribution, or supply chain experience
• 5+ years of leadership experience managing inventory control or warehouse operations teams
• Strong inventory control expertise within distribution centers, fulfillment, or warehouse environments
• Experience managing cycle counts, physical inventories, reconciliations, and audits
• Knowledge of SOX controls, inventory valuation, and compliance requirements
• Hands‑on experience with ERP and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
