What is this role

As the Director of Insurance Strategy & Operations, you will be a thought partner to the Chief Operating & Strategy Officer, working closely with the executive team to define and drive company strategy. This dynamic role combines creativity and execution, spanning across technology innovation and insurance operations.

Job Responsibilities

• Build and lead insurance operations functions including carrier/reinsurer strategy and relationship management across different external stakeholders, managing operations post in force across internal teams and external vendors
• Act as the life insurance SME to all other departments including working with GtM teams to distribute permanent life insurance products, working with Finance on capital strategies and working with technology teams on designing the best in class customer experiences and data analytics
• Lead end-to-end insurance product development and portfolio strategy, partnering with internal teams—Product & Engineering, Marketing, Sales, Finance, and Legal & Compliance—as well as external partners, including carriers, reinsurers, and insurtechs, to bring innovative insurance solutions to market from ideation through successful launch
• Beyond operations and product leadership, you’ll play a critical role in advancing key enterprise initiatives, serving as the Chief Operating & Strategy Officer’s right hand to ensure strategic projects move seamlessly from concept to execution

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of experience in life insurance including 5+ years in leading teams
• 5+ years of insurance operations experience
• 3+ years of pricing and product design experience in individual permanent life insurance (IUL/VUL)
• Experience in driving complex cross-functional enterprise initiatives in a fast-paced environment
• Extensive experience working with senior management stakeholders, building trust, and communicating effectively.
• Strong relationship, communication, and influence skill
