Job description

Designalytics is redefining how the consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry measures and manages design performance. We're seeking a highly motivated, analytical, and growth-minded leader to head our Analytics team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a transformative impact on an industry that often undervalues the power of design.

As Director of Analytics, you'll be responsible for overseeing our syndicated reporting systems, leading a talented team of analysts and managers (7-10), and ensuring the timely, high-quality delivery of client work. You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of design analytics while supporting continued innovation and scale across the company.

This role offers significant room for professional growth and leadership development, as well as the chance to work with some of the world’s most admired CPG brands and design agencies.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead our analytics operations team: Own and manage our syndicated design performance measurement system, ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and scalability of data workflows.
  • Drive process efficiency: Continuously identify and implement improvements to automate, streamline, and scale our systems to support aggressive domestic and international growth.
  • Ensure excellence in client delivery: Oversee the execution of on-demand design research projects, from initial specs to final reports, ensuring timelines are met and insights drive measurable impact.
  • Produce groundbreaking insights: Coordinate advanced analyses to uncover how design influences brand success, leveraging our proprietary in-market design performance database.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally: Partner with Product Development on feature expansion and system improvements, and support Marketing with data-driven insights that elevate industry understanding.
  • Mentor and grow your team: Guide, inspire, and develop a high-performing analytics team in a culture of ownership, learning, and accountability.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in market research, analytics, or data science especially with syndicated or custom research methodologies.
  • Strong fluency in statistical analysis and data interpretation, with the ability to connect complex insights to actionable business strategies.
  • Background in CPG, SaaS, or creative/design industries is a must.
  • An agile, entrepreneurial mindset and comfort working in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, you can make data stories compelling and clear.
  • Strong empathy and leadership skills; you're a thoughtful and effective team builder.
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and data analysis tools.
  • BS degree in Statistics, Marketing, Business, or a related field; 7-10 years of relevant experience.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in a high-growth startup or early-stage company
  • Familiarity with shopper psychology and consumer decision trees
  • Exposure to AI/ML or advanced data automation
  • Skepticism toward traditional package design testing (we get it)
  • Experience on both client and agency sides of the business
  • Comfort with asset management, data warehousing, or visualization platforms
  • Role: Full-time
  • Reports To: COO
  • Location: Boston MA area preferred but very open to remote
