Job summary

Nicely Co. seeks a Director of Infrastructure to lead and shape dependable infrastructure, cloud operations, access controls, automation, monitoring, support, and resilience. This is an early-stage company where you’ll establish processes, set policies, and drive scalable systems.

You will partner with cross-functional teams, translate priorities into plans, and own the roadmap for infrastructure, with autonomy to influence budgets and hiring as the company grows.

Qualifications

• Experience leading infrastructure in an early-stage company or startup.
• Ability to translate business priorities into clear plans and decisions.
• Proven leadership and coaching skills with cross-functional collaboration.
• Strong written and verbal communication across specialist and non-specialist audiences.
• Commitment to security, confidentiality, accessibility, and inclusive collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Set direction for reliable infrastructure, cloud operations, access controls, automation, monitoring, support, and resilience.
• Translate priorities into documented plans, decisions, and measurable outcomes.
• Build lightweight, repeatable processes for an early-stage company that can mature over time.
• Collaborate across functions to resolve dependencies and deliver complete outcomes.
• Identify risks early, propose proportionate solutions, and escalate critical decisions.
• Maintain accurate documentation and handle company, customer, and employee information responsibly.
• Use evidence and feedback to improve quality, efficiency, and stakeholder experience.
• Communicate progress, constraints, priorities, and results clearly to teammates.
• Partner with Founder/CEO on company strategy, budgets, resource choices, and performance measures.
• Build the function's roadmap, operating policies, and future hiring plan.
• Develop future team members through clear expectations, coaching, and accountable leadership.
• Balance immediate execution with organizational resilience and scalable growth.
