Woods Rogers seeks a Director of IT to lead the IT department across six offices. The role reports to the Executive Director and drives technology initiatives, staffing, and budget management for a mid-sized law firm.

Qualifications

• Minimum of ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in information technology, including significant IT leadership/management.
• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, business management, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of infrastructure, enterprise security, application and services integration, vendor management, project management, and budget management.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work effectively with vendors, owners, attorneys, staff, and direct reports.
• Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• High level of discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
• Strong work ethic and initiative with ownership of tasks.
• Strong strategic thinking skills with the ability to develop and implement policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct the IT department, ensuring staffing, training, development, and resource allocation.
• Oversee hardware and software procurement, deployment, maintenance, replacement, and lifecycle management.
• Establish and enforce security controls, access management, authentication, endpoint protection, and data-protection measures.
• Promote cybersecurity awareness and training among attorneys and staff.
• Lead or oversee major technology implementations, upgrades, migrations, and other IT projects.
• Develop and manage an annual budget for capital expenditures, project expenses, and recurring costs.
• Assess and defend against threats and cultivate a culture of cybersecurity.
• Direct the firm’s helpdesk to meet operational needs.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

The Director of IT is an integral member of the firm’s administrative leadership team and reports to the Executive Director. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the firm’s information technology systems and assisting in the development and implementation of IT initiatives. This role is responsible for the management, training, and development of the personnel within the IT department. The ideal candidate will have previous experience managing an IT department in a professional services environment. This is a full‑time, exempt position, with the option of being based in any of our six offices.

Salary Range:

$175,000 – $250,000.

This is the firm’s good faith pay range for this hiring cycle. The firm handles compensation discussions only after an offer is extended.
