Job description

Director of Information Technology

The Director of Information Technology at Silfex, a Lam Research Company, is a key member of the leadership team. This matrixed role reports to Lam GIS and carries dotted‑line accountability to Silfex to align enterprise IT standards with site‑specific business priorities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Effectively plan, manage, and control IT operations across multiple sites.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand strategic and operational imperatives, and develop and deliver an IT strategy and operational plan that supports the company’s needs with a clear ROI.
• Create an IT strategic roadmap that continually aligns IT, company, and operational planning.
• Build relationships with Lam Research IT executives and support teams to identify integration opportunities between Silfex and Lam Research.
• Provide leadership in planning and managing computer operations, production support, systems and database administration, and network operations.
• Manage day‑to‑day IT operations to improve infrastructure costs, performance, and end‑user satisfaction.
• Execute technical transformation to modernize IT platforms, consolidate systems, and enable scalable, end‑to‑end digital capabilities aligned to Silfex and Lam objectives.
• Provide business rationale and an innovative perspective for all technology problems and innovations.
• Analyze operational procedures, data needs, and existing IT assets to identify future requirements for a rapidly scaling business.
• Direct technical and management staff to meet IT service delivery commitments.
• Work with department managers to analyze current operations, pinpoint problem areas, and recommend improvements.
• Manage vendor relationships to fit the organization’s size and needs.
• Understand business goals to recommend technology solutions that improve performance.
• Establish standards for system availability, fault tolerance, and recoverability aligned with business continuity objectives.
• Drive telemetry‑driven operations, event‑based automation, and intelligent alerting for proactive service management.
• Standardize automated recovery, health checks, and operational runbooks to support reliable operations.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and quality functions to develop the Industry4.0 implementation roadmap for Silfex.
• Assist all departments with needs assessments, messaging, timelines, and clarity for IT initiatives.
• Formulate IT policies, procedures, and performance‑management processes and measures.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in IT or a related field.
• At least 15 years of progressive IT leadership experience.
• Experience in computer applications programming, systems programming, database administration, data telecommunications, and network planning.
• Track record of successful enterprise‑level IT strategy implementation, including the selection, implementation, operation, and maintenance of large‑scale systems across multiple platforms.
• Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous situations and adapt to organizational change.
• Solution‑oriented mindset with a capacity to identify and address challenges swiftly and directly.

Preferred Requirements

• MBA or graduate degree in a related field.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to stand, use hands to fingernote, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
