Job summary

Renown Health seeks an experienced and visionary Director of Infection Prevention & Control to lead system-wide efforts protecting patients and caregivers. This executive role develops strategy, improves outcomes, and ensures regulatory compliance across the health system.

You will partner with physicians and quality teams to implement best practices that reduce infections and advance care quality, while overseeing staff and quality initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a health-related field is required; Master's preferred.
• CBIC Certification required at hire.
• Minimum 5 years of Infection Prevention experience in an acute care hospital setting.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive leadership or management experience.
• Strong background in quality improvement, infection surveillance, regulatory compliance, and healthcare analytics.

Responsibilities

• Lead and advance a comprehensive Infection Prevention & Control program across the health system.
• Serve as the organization's subject matter expert on infection prevention, surveillance, and regulatory compliance.
• Drive initiatives to reduce hospital-acquired infections (e.g., CLABSI, CAUTI, MRSA, SSI).
• Leverage data analytics and surveillance reporting to identify trends and improve outcomes.
• Collaborate with executives, physicians, quality teams, and frontline caregivers to implement evidence-based practices.
• Oversee infection prevention staff, multidisciplinary improvement teams, and system-wide quality initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with reporting requirements and accreditation standards (CDC, CMS, Joint Commission).
• Champion a culture of patient safety, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

This executive leadership role is responsible for shaping infection prevention strategy, driving measurable improvements in patient outcomes, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and regulatory requirements.

As the organization's Infection Control Officer, you will partner with physicians, nursing leaders, quality teams, and operational stakeholders to develop and implement best practices that reduce healthcare-associated infections and enhance the quality of care delivered across the health system.

What You'll Do

• Lead and advance a comprehensive Infection Prevention & Control program across the health system.
• Serve as the organization's subject matter expert and authority on infection prevention, communicable diseases, surveillance, and regulatory compliance.
• Drive initiatives focused on reducing hospital-acquired infections, including CLABSI, CAUTI, MRSA, surgical site infections, and other preventable harm events.
• Leverage data analytics and surveillance reporting to identify trends, uncover opportunities, and improve clinical outcomes.
• Collaborate with executive leaders, physicians, quality teams, and frontline caregivers to implement evidence-based infection prevention practices.
• Oversee infection prevention staff, multidisciplinary improvement teams, and system-wide quality initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with reporting requirements and accreditation standards from organizations such as the CDC, CMS, and The Joint Commission.
• Champion a culture of patient safety, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

What We're Looking For
