Job summary

MountainView Hospital in Las Vegas seeks a Director of IMC Progressive Care to lead the Intermediate Care unit across youth to geriatric patients. You will set aims, measure outcomes, and drive policy adherence while supervising staff and collaborating with physicians.

You will ensure cost-effective, safe patient care and lead quality initiatives. The role requires an RN with a BSN, MSN within 3 years, Nevada licensure, BCLS/ACLS, and National Certification within 1 year.

Qualifications

• BSN is required and MSN to be completed within 3 years of hire.
• Current, unrestricted Nevada RN license required.
• BCLS and ACLS required.
• National Certification within 1 year of hire.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in management of critical care services for YA–geriatric.
• Proficiency in critical care nursing procedures and skills.
• Experience in leadership, management, and establishing interpersonal relationships to promote an effective working environment.
• Experience dealing with hospital policies, budgeting, QA, Medicare, and JC requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide IMC services to patients from youth through geriatric age groups.
• Establish departmental objectives and goals; monitor performance in assessment, implementation, and evaluation of services.
• Develop, implement and monitor policies and procedures; manage staff recruitment, training and evaluation.
• Maintain cost-effective delivery of services and department safety; consult with physicians as needed.
• Demonstrate growth and development knowledge across life span; assess patient data and determine age-specific needs.
• Remain calm in crisis and direct staff effectively during emergencies.

Job Summary And Qualifications

• As the Intermediate Care Director (IMC), you will assume responsibility for providing IMC services to patients ranging in ages from youth through geriatric
• You will establish departmental objectives and goals, and will be responsible for department performance in assessment, implementation, and evaluation of all services
• You will be responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring Policies and Procedures and will perform employee, selection, training, and evaluation
• You will maintain optimal cost effective delivery of services, maintain department safety program, and consult with physicians and other professional staff as needed
• You must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span, and must possess the ability to assess data reflective of patient status, and to interpret the data appropriately to identify patient requirements specific to the patient’s age
• You will remain calm in crisis and emergency situations, and direct staff members effectively and appropriately

What qualifications you will need:

• Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) required
• Masters’ Degree in Nursing required within three (3) years of hire
• Current unrestricted RN License in Nevada
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required
• National Certification within one (1) year of hire required
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in management of critical care services for young adult through geriatric patients preferred
• Proficiency in critical care nursing procedures and skills required
• Experienced in leadership, management, and establishing interpersonal relationships necessary to promote an effective working environment required
• Practical experience dealing with hospital and departmental policies and procedures is required, including comprehensive knowledge of budgeting, continuous quality assurance, Medicare, and JC
