National Church Residences is seeking a Director of Housing Maintenance to provide strategic leadership across a portfolio of multifamily communities. You will oversee regional maintenance leads, set policies, ensure timely work orders, preventive maintenance, and safety compliance while partnering with Operations, Compliance, and Capital Projects teams.

As the Director of Housing Maintenance, you are responsible for providing strategic leadership, direction, and oversight of maintenance operations across a portfolio of multifamily residential communities. This position ensures the physical assets are maintained to the highest standards, preventive maintenance programs are effectively executed, capital improvement projects are completed on schedule and within budget, and all communities remain compliant with company, ownership, regulatory, and safety requirements. In this role, you will partner closely with Operations, Property Management, Compliance, and Capital Projects teams to drive operational excellence, maximize asset preservation, improve resident satisfaction, and support organizational growth.
Demonstrates and maintains a positive, professional manner, manages time efficiently and effectively, provides leadership as a role model to promote a team approach, collaborates and participates in policy creation and appropriate problem-solving methods. Must adhere to all policies, procedures, terms and conditions set forth in the National Church Residences’ Employee Information Guide (EIG), the Code of Conduct, as well as any facility handbook, including but not limited to, corporate compliance, drug free workplace, safe work practices, all federal, state, local regulations and laws. With respect to Resident Rights, ensures all care is provided with respect and dignity for the residents/clients, their families and the staff. Reports all complaints made by residents/clients and/or families to the appropriate supervisors, reports all allegations of abuse, misappropriation of funds/resident property and/or any other corporate compliance, drug free workplace, safe work practices, all federal, state and local regulations and laws. Completes all annual education requirements timely, including but not limited to Compliance, Privacy, Security and HIPAA training and exhibits behavior as set forth by the Code of Conduct in the performance of their duties. Performs other duties as assigned.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Facilities Management, Construction Management, Engineering, Property Management, or a related field or equivalent relevant experience.
Experience: Minimum 7 years of progressive maintenance leadership experience in multifamily housing, affordable housing, senior housing, or property management. Minimum 5 years managing multiple properties or regional maintenance teams. Experience with or responsible for capital planning, construction projects, budgeting, and vendor management.
Skills: Strong leadership and team development skills. Exceptional organizational, planning, and project management abilities. Strong financial and analytical skills. Must have excellent communication, comprehension, and interpersonal skills. Must have the ability to speak, read, write and understand English, as well as the ability to make self-understood. Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment. Proficiency with property management and maintenance software platforms. Knowledge of building systems, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, roofing, and general construction practices. Working knowledge of affordable housing programs and related regulatory requirements preferred. Proficiency in Yardi and Microsoft Office applications.
Travel: Up to 50%
Licensure: Must have a valid driver's license and comply with National Church Residences' Motor Vehicle Policy.
