Job Description

The Director of Housekeeping is responsible for directing and administering all Housekeeping operations to ensure overall cleanliness meets or exceeds hotel and brand standards. The role focuses on delivering outstanding guest service while maintaining financial profitability.

This position manages the largest department in the hotel. The Director needs strong leadership skills to plan, organize, and execute departmental responsibilities, which directly impact the availability of guest rooms and the guests' perception of cleanliness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure and maintain cleanliness, service, and brand standards across guest rooms, public spaces, restrooms, meeting spaces, and offices, complying with health and safety standards.
  • Lead and manage all Housekeeping operations, including use of hotel and brand systems, budgeting, forecasting, labor control, inventory management, policy enforcement, and safety guidelines.
  • Develop and monitor team member performance through supervision, training, scheduling, counseling, evaluations, and recognition.
  • Coordinate effectively with other departments to ensure seamless guest service and satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, federal, and state regulations regarding chemical handling and occupational safety. Stay updated on housekeeping technology advancements.
Requirements
  • 2-3 years of hotel Housekeeping management experience.
  • Flexible work schedule, including weekends, holidays, early mornings, and evenings, based on business needs.
  • Preferred experience with Hilton Hotels or major brands.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience and education.
  • Excellent customer service and problem resolution skills.
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, with the ability to multitask.
  • Preferred experience with Birch Street and HotSOS systems.
  • Spanish and/or Creole language skills are a plus.
