The Opportunity

The Director of Health & Wellness is part of the Care Services Team and will be responsible for overseeing the comprehensive care services provided to our residents. This pivotal role ensures high standards of care and compliance with all regulatory requirements. This leadership will directly impact the quality of life of our residents through meticulous oversight and proactive health management.

What You’ll Do

• Overall management of the Care Services Department to provide quality care and services to all residents.
• Serve as the liaison between resident, family, physician, and other health care providers regarding health care issues.
• Perform hands-on care procedures within the scope of practice as allowed by state law and in compliance with Five Star Senior Living policies and procedures.
• Support and practice the philosophy, objectives, and standards of the Resident Services department to ensure quality care to all residents.
• Ensure resident care meets the personal, physical, and cognitive needs of each resident, maximizing their care capacities, identity, independence, and social opportunities.
• Maintain knowledge of OSHA and state regulations, routinely monitoring community compliance.
• Organize and staff the Resident Services Department effectively and efficiently.
• Monitor outcomes of Resident Services activities, staff performance, and resource use.
• Ensure infection control practices promote a healthy environment and meet training requirements.
• Lead staff to provide quality resident care that exceeds standards.
• Manage staffing schedules, recruitment, onboarding, and performance reviews.
• Educate staff on incident report procedures, especially for falls.
• Lead in leadership, customer service, safety, and communication.

What You’ll Bring

POSITION REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS:

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with a current RN/LPN license in the State.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid State driver’s license as per property requirements and law.
• Ability to pass criminal background and drug screens.
• Two years’ experience in assisted living preferred.
• Knowledge of State Regulations.
• Proficiency with clinical software systems like PointClickCare and OnShift.
• Competency in written and oral English communication, problem-solving, and data analysis.
