Job summary

Eastern Washington University seeks a Director of Grant and Research Development to lead the Office of Grant & Research Development in Cheney. The role focuses on supporting faculty scholarship, sponsored programs, and research administration, driving institutional capacity and innovation.

The director will advance research administration processes, collaborate with colleges and external partners, and help shape graduate education strategy under the Dean of Graduate Studies and Research.

Qualifications

• Required strong leadership and management abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication to collaborate across units.
• Proven ability to guide large, complex programs with diverse stakeholders.
• Experience with federal regulations and sponsored programs administration.
• Ability to implement and optimize grant management processes.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and manage day-to-day operations of the Office of Grant & Research Development.
• Negotiate contracts and manage award processes and scopes of work.
• Develop and administer policies ensuring compliance with federal/state regulations.
• Oversee regulatory compliance areas including IP, integrity, effort reporting and conflicts of interest.
• Lead faculty and staff in preparing grant proposals for federal and non-federal agencies.
