Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Director of Golf Course Maintenance to join our team in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record with Bentgrass, Bermuda Greens, and overseeding, along with multi-course management experience. This role is crucial to the successful operation of our Golf Course Maintenance and Clubhouse Grounds Maintenance Departments. The Director will collaborate closely with the General Manager and SVP of Agronomy on capital improvement projects and coordinate with the Head Golf Professional to optimize the number of rounds played by strategically scheduling maintenance. Expertise in turf/grass management, materials and chemical maintenance, and asset management is essential.

Day-to-Day:

  • Budget Management: Prepare annual budgets and achieve financial goals through accurate forecasting, expense control, and effective labor management.
  • Agronomic Leadership: Provide expert agronomic direction to maintain the golf courses at peak quality year-round.
  • Team Development: Hire, train, and develop staff, ensuring they meet high-performance standards.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure all staff adhere to OSHA, Club safety, and state and federal guidelines to maintain safe working conditions.

About You:

  • Experience: 3 – 5 years in Golf Course Maintenance management. Multi-course experience is required. Experience with PGA Tournaments is preferred.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to build and supervise a team, particularly in developing Superintendents.
  • Communication Skills: Strong internal and external communication skills with the team members, department heads, Members, and guests.
  • Licenses and Knowledge: Pesticide Applicators License. Advanced knowledge of regulatory requirements and recordkeeping as mandated by local, state, and federal laws.
  • Education: Minimum 2-year College Agronomy Degree.
  • Language Skills: Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
