Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Data Scientist to lead generative AI initiatives with a focus on NLP, ML, and large-scale data analytics. You will collaborate across product, tech, and design to deliver AI-powered solutions for customer interactions, text processing, and time-series modeling.

You will guide a team of NLP, speech, and computer vision specialists, leveraging PyTorch, Hugging Face, LangChain, and vector databases to push the boundaries of AI applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field plus 9 years analytics experience.
• Master’s degree in quantitative field or MBA with quantitative concentration plus 7 years analytics.
• PhD in quantitative field plus 4 years analytics.
• At least 4 years of experience with open-source languages for large-scale data analysis.
• At least 4 years of experience with machine learning.
• At least 4 years of experience with relational databases.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a cross-functional team of data scientists, software engineers, ML engineers and product managers to deliver AI powered products that change how customers interact with their money.
• Leverage a broad stack of technologies — PyTorch, AWS Ultraclusters, Hugging Face, LangChain, Lightning, VectorDBs, and more — to reveal insights in large datasets.
• Be the NLP expert to harness the power of Large Language Models and fine-tune them for customer-facing applications.
• Build ML and NLP models from design through training, evaluation, and production deployment.
• Translate the complexity of your work into tangible business goals.
