Job summary

CSC is seeking a Director-Fund Accounting in Livingston, NJ, offering a hybrid schedule with three days in the office and standard US hours. The role requires deep fund accounting expertise, client relationship management, and leadership of a skilled team to ensure accuracy of GAAP/OCBOA financials and SBA reporting.

You will oversee onboarding, document review, capital calls, distributions, and cross-selling CSC products, while driving process improvements and staff development.

Qualifications

• BS Degree in Accounting; CPA or CFA preferred.
• 10+ years’ experience in portfolio/investment and partnership accounting; 5+ years supervisory.
• Working knowledge of US GAAP for investment companies.
• Experience with fund documents and coordination with client service teams.
• Proficient in advanced Excel; ability to learn web applications.
• Experience with private equity accounting software.
• Strong multi-tasking and deadline-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Manage client relationships including onboarding new clients, review of fund documents and fund set up and renewals of existing client engagements.
• Understand clients’ business to identify opportunities for additional fund services and cross selling of CSC products.
• Review accounting records, financial statements and support schedules, including waterfall calculations (GAAP & OCBOA).
• Review SBA compliance reporting, including SBA Form 468.
• Review capital call & distribution calculations and letters.
• Assist as needed with internal teams with all client deliverables.
• Ensure that best practices are used by client service team and look for efficiency improvements.
• Staffing/resource allocation for client service team.
• Career development and talent management of team members.
• Manage special projects as required.
• Extensive on the job training.
• Internal responsibilities (status reports, time tracking, etc.).

What technical skills, experience, and qualifications do you need?

• BS Degree in Accounting, CPA or CFA preferred
• 10+ years’ experience in portfolio/investment and partnership accounting and 5+ years of supervisory experience
• Working knowledge of US GAAP for investment companies
• Thorough understanding of key terms of fund documents
• Tech savvy a plus (e.g. advanced excel skills and ability to learn and navigate web applications)
• Private equity accounting software experience preferred
• Able to multi task and perform tasks under strict deadlines
• Experience delegating to, training and supervising multiple staff
• Experience managing multiple client relationships
• Strong professional verbal and written communication skills
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills

At CSC, compensation decisions are dependent on a number of factors including job location and the knowledge and experience of each individual. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $175,000 to $200,000.
