Job summary

CSC is seeking an Associate Fund Accountant to join our team in a hybrid role based in Livingston, NJ. You will prepare and maintain accounting records, reconcile cash and investment activity, and support audits while ensuring regulatory compliance and adherence to SLAs.

The role emphasizes accuracy, client service, and teamwork. The position requires a BS in Accounting or related studies, fund accounting experience, advanced Excel skills, and familiarity with Investran or similar systems.

Qualifications

• BS Degree in Accounting or related field with strong accounting coursework.
• Experience in fund or partnership accounting, with working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, SUMIF, XIRR, named ranges).
• Experience with Investran or similar fund accounting system(s).
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a client-focused approach.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accounting records, supporting schedules, and financial reports for assigned clients.
• Process and reconcile cash activity, including journal entries and wire transfers.
• Record and reconcile investment activity, such as purchases, sales, and interest accruals/income.
• Prepare workpapers that reconcile and support the trial balance.
• Prepare IRS Form 1099 in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Support the year-end audit process and SOC 1 audit/SBA exam.
• Communicate with clients to obtain information and provide status updates.
• Participate in projects to improve operational efficiency, including Excel automation.

Associate Fund Accountant

Hybrid Work Schedule in Livingston, NJ (three days in office per week)

Monday to Friday 9:00 am to 6:00 pm

Job Description

• Prepare and maintain accounting records, supporting schedules, and financial reports for assigned clients
• Process and reconcile cash activity, including recording journal entries and preparing wire transfers, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Record and reconcile investment activity, such as purchases and sales, and interest accruals/income
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive workpapers that fully reconcile and support the trial balance
• Prepare IRS Form 1099 in compliance with regulatory requirements
• Ensure standard procedures and controls are adhered to
• Communicate with clients to obtain information, resolve inquiries, and provide status updates
• Ensure all processes are in line with the SLA and elevate when needed
• Support the year end audit process as well as SOC 1 audit and SBA exam
• Participate in projects focused on improving operational efficiency, including automation of Excel-based calculations and enhancement of workpaper processes
• Perform internal tasks, including mandatory training and time tracking

What technical skills, experience, and qualifications do you need?

• BS Degree in Accounting preferred or other degree with strong foundation in accounting principles through relevant coursework
• Experience in fund or partnership accounting, with a working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting principles a plus
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including functions such as VLOOKUP, SUMIF, XIRR, and use of named ranges
• Experience with Investran or similar fund accounting system(s) a plus
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a professional and client-focused approach
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills

At CSC, compensation decisions are dependent on a number of factors including job location and the knowledge and experience of each individual. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $50,000 to $65,000.
