Job summary

TELUS Digital in the United States is seeking a Director, Forward Deployed Researcher to lead AI research and manage a client-embedded team delivering production-grade AI solutions for Fortune 500 clients.

You will guide strategic AI initiatives, build high-performing teams, and collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Sales to shape enterprise AI adoption. This role offers remote flexibility with office options across major US locations, including Boston.

Qualifications

• 10+ years hands-on software engineering and AI/ML experience
• 4+ years in senior leadership or management roles
• Proven ability to advise C-level stakeholders on AI strategy
• Deep expertise in frontier GenAI/LLMs and deployment patterns
• Experience building production AI systems in regulated industries

Responsibilities

• Embed within client teams to deliver production-ready AI solutions
• Lead and mentor Forward Deployed Researchers and Engineers
• Develop reusable frameworks and accelerators for multiple clients
• Shape client AI strategy, roadmaps, and ROI
• Collaborate with TELUS Digital Product, Engineering and Sales teams
• Publish or present technical work to enhance TELUS Digital's thought leadership
