Job summary

Podium is hiring a Director of Communications to own external communications strategy and build a founder-led comms function from the ground up. This role is high-visibility, demanding extreme ownership, and startup speed.

You will craft a narrative that positions Podium as the number one AI authority for our local-business industries and drive content from Eric’s voice through social and long-form channels.

Qualifications

• Must have experience running comms, brand, or founder content at a high-growth tech, AI, or consumer company
• Exceptional writer and storyteller who can capture and scale a founder's voice
• Extreme ownership and high velocity; autonomously ship, protect the CEO's time
• Media instincts and taste; wired to modern media ecosystems
• Sharp strategic mind to define audience beliefs and narrative
• Deep AI fluency and ability to build AI-driven workflows
• Stay obsessively current on AI, SaaS, SMB, and Podium verticals
• Original thinking with a point of view on AI/local business

Responsibilities

• Build the motion: end-to-end strategy, channels, cadence, audience beliefs
• Develop founder thought leadership and create content for social and long-form formats
• Develop content programs around launches, milestones, and ROI stories
• Stand up AI-native workflows for scalable content production
• Scale Eric's social presence on X and LinkedIn
• Secure Eric on select media opportunities (podcasts)
• Refine Eric's voice and proactive angle development
• Create measurement and milestones linking to mindshare, inbound, deals, and pipeline
• Own Podium’s reputation across review platforms
• Cultivate Podium champions to amplify founder content and monitor industry mentions
