Job Title: Director of Rental Fleet

Reporting to: Chief Operating Officer

Classification: Full Time/Professional

Status: Exempt

This Job is Remote Role that may occasionally require Travel

Purpose

The Director of Rental Fleet will be responsible for overseeing the daily and long-term strategy for Pine Environmental’s rental fleet. You will collaborate with Regional and Branch Managers to improve equipment sourcing and order fulfillment, while ensuring the highest levels of customer satisfaction.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead Region and Branch Managers in the development of fleet plans designed to achieve budgets and other strategic objectives.
  • Achieve Financial and Time Utilization targets.
  • Analyze fleet trends, evaluate fleet performance, and proactively make recommendations for improvement.
  • Responsible for equipment sourcing and order fulfillment. Develop process and procedures for sourcing rental equipment, prioritizing customer needs and tracking lost orders.
  • Ensure Branches and Regions are working cohesively, sharing fleet and supporting their individual Branch operations along with the objectives of the Region and Organization.
  • Communicate effectively with Regions and Branches, both individually and/or collectively, any successes and challenges associated with rental fleet policy or strategy change.
  • Develop and execute a long-term strategy for fleet acquisition and lifecycle management in alignment with market trends and business goals.
  • Set goals, policies and standards for fleet management across all branches.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of a company-wide maintenance strategy to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
  • Develop and implement Regional hub strategy for maintenance and NDT/RVI equipment.
  • Set performance benchmarks for equipment utilization and conduct regular reviews to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Implement technology and tools to enhance real-time tracking of fleet availability and performance.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to senior leadership on fulfillment trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Own the product lifecycle management process, including decisions on acquisitions, retirements, and updates to the equipment catalog.
  • Oversee and maintain the equipment catalog or product master data, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records of all rental fleet items, including specifications, availability, and lifecycle status.
  • Partner with sales and marketing teams to align fleet offerings with evolving customer needs and market demand.
  • Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to manage equipment upgrades, repairs, and replacements.
  • Develop a remarketing strategy to maximize the resale value of retired equipment, leveraging secondary markets and alternative sales channels.
  • Deliver regular insights to senior leadership on fleet performance, including forecasting for future needs and risks.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Management or other related field or equivalent years of experience
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in management, preferably in a multi-unit and/or multi-state environment .
  • Experience with Operations, rental equipment and in customer facing environments required.
  • Working knowledge of environmental testing/testing equipment, environmental service offerings and customer base highly desired
