Job Title: Director of Rental Fleet

Reporting to: Chief Operating Officer

Classification: Full Time/Professional

Status: Exempt

This role is a Remote Position that may occasionally require travel.

Purpose

The Director of Rental Fleet is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and long-term strategy of Pine Environmental’s rental fleet. This includes collaborating with Regional and Branch Managers to improve equipment sourcing and order fulfillment while ensuring high customer satisfaction.

Primary Responsibilities
  1. Lead Region and Branch Managers in developing fleet plans to meet budgets and strategic objectives.
  2. Achieve financial and utilization targets.
  3. Analyze fleet trends, evaluate performance, and recommend improvements.
  4. Manage equipment sourcing and order fulfillment, developing processes for prioritizing customer needs and tracking orders.
  5. Ensure cohesive operations among branches and regions, sharing fleet resources and supporting individual branch goals.
  6. Communicate fleet policies, strategies, successes, and challenges effectively across teams.
  7. Develop and implement long-term strategies for fleet acquisition and lifecycle management aligned with market trends and business goals.
  8. Establish goals, policies, and standards for fleet management across all branches.
  9. Oversee maintenance strategies to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
  10. Develop regional hub strategies for maintenance and NDT/RVI equipment.
  11. Set and review performance benchmarks for equipment utilization.
  12. Implement technology for real-time fleet tracking and performance monitoring.
  13. Advise senior leadership on fulfillment trends, risks, and opportunities.
  14. Manage product lifecycle decisions, including acquisitions, retirements, and catalog updates.
  15. Maintain accurate records of all fleet items, including specifications, availability, and lifecycle status.
  16. Partner with sales and marketing to align fleet offerings with customer needs and market demand.
  17. Collaborate with vendors for equipment upgrades, repairs, and replacements.
  18. Develop remarketing strategies to maximize resale value of retired equipment.
  19. Provide regular fleet performance insights and forecasts to senior leadership.
Education and Experience
  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Management, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  2. Minimum of 10 years management experience, preferably in multi-unit/multi-state environments.
  3. Experience with operations, rental equipment, and customer-facing roles.
  4. Knowledge of environmental testing/testing equipment and services is highly desirable.
Physical Demands

This position is 30% sedentary and 70% active, involving walking, standing, bending, stretching, and climbing (ladder). Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and drive company vehicles. Work outside normal hours may be required.
