The Director of Financial Operations oversees financial reporting for the organization's affordable housing portfolio, ensuring GAAP compliance and accuracy across multiple entities and programs (LIHTC, HUD). This role partners with executives, auditors, and investors to drive financial integrity and strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Reporting & Close: Manage monthly/annual close, consolidated GAAP financial statements, variance analysis, and reporting consistency.
• Affordable Housing Compliance: Oversee reporting for LIHTC and HUD programs (PBRA, Section 8, HOME), aligning finance with compliance across teams.
• Audit, Tax & Investor Relations: Serve as primary liaison for annual audits, tax filings, and investor/lender reporting packages.
• Systems & Internal Controls: Manage accounting software (Yardi, RealPage, MRI), optimize reporting processes, and strengthen internal controls.
• Leadership & Collaboration: Mentor accounting staff, lead cross-functional initiatives, and support executive leadership.

Qualifications

• Required: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; 8+ years progressive accounting/reporting experience; deep expertise in affordable housing finance (LIHTC), GAAP, multi-entity accounting, and audit management.
• Preferred: CPA/CPA-eligible; experience with HUD-regulated programs, team management, and real estate partnerships.
