Job Responsibility:
The Finance Transformation leader will work on strategic finance initiatives which enable the business to evolve and meet the demands of a rapidly changing industry. This leader will partner with various departments to help define and build the finance processes, systems, and teams of Blue Yonder's future.
Scope: This is a role where you can apply your business, financial, and technological expertise, become a trusted advisor to leadership, and contribute to the Finance organization's strategic direction. The Director of Finance Transformation will be responsible for driving continuous improvement and innovation within the finance and accounting departments.
What you will do:
- Lead accounting department initiatives focused on identifying, analyzing, and implementing process improvements across various accounting functions.
- Work directly with key stakeholders to map key systems and processes and identify root causes of key issues.
- Evaluate existing accounting processes, systems, and controls to identify areas for improvement, automation, and streamlining.
- Identify potential risks and control gaps related to process changes and innovations and collaborate with internal audit and compliance teams to mitigate these risks effectively.
- Collaborate across teams to understand business requirements, challenges, and opportunities, and develop innovative solutions that align with the organization's strategic goals.
- Initiate and oversee projects aimed at enhancing the efficiency and accuracy of financial reporting, compliance, and data management.
- Partner with IT and other relevant departments to implement technology solutions that support process innovation, including the evaluation of new accounting software and tools.
- Lead change management efforts associated with process innovations, ensuring smooth transitions, user adoption, and alignment with company initiatives.
- Develop training programs for accounting staff to ensure proper understanding and adoption of new processes and technologies.
- Establish standardized procedures and workflows across the accounting department to improve consistency, accuracy, and efficiency.
- Prepare and present regular reports to senior management, highlighting the progress of process innovation initiatives, benefits realized, and future opportunities.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive process innovation roadmap, outlining short-term and long-term objectives, milestones, and success metrics.
- Manage the budget allocated for process innovation initiatives, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to achieve desired outcomes.
- Maintain thorough documentation of process changes, rationale, and outcomes for future reference and audit purposes.
- Create detailed process maps and flowcharts to visualize current and proposed workflows, facilitating better understanding and communication of process changes.
What we are looking for:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or related discipline.
- 7-10+ years of experience in one of the following fields of consulting, accounting, financial planning, or other strategic or analytical functions and leadership experience.
- Experience in project management, including mapping and improving business processes, implementing applications, preferably financial in nature.
- Experience in Workday Financials preferred.
- Passion to solve problems and drive efficiency and effectiveness.
- Self-starting and able to work effectively with limited daily guidance.
- Analytical, people-oriented, problem-solver who thrives when tackling ambiguous problems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to generate and deliver presentations that facilitate and influence decision-making at all levels of an organization.
- High proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel required.
