The incumbent will manage the Site Finance team, maintain internal controls, and coordinate with external auditors, while driving cost accounting and FP&A activities. Hybrid work option available.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting; CPA preferred.
  • 10 years of progressively responsible accounting experience with focus on financial reporting and analysis.
  • 5+ years of experience managing a team with senior leadership interactions.
  • Extensive experience with SAP/ERP and Excel; knowledge of internal controls and IFRS.
  • CDMO or public company experience is an asset; strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic financial leadership aligned with Bora goals.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis with Site leadership.
  • Ensure accurate periodic financial statements and reporting to management.
  • Maintain ERP controls and collaborate with external auditors on reviews and audits.

Job Summary

The Director of Finance, Controller, will oversee the day-to-day finance and accounting functions for various Bora sites. They will be responsible for providing accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with IFRS. In addition, this role will partner with aligned Site and Business Unit leadership to assist in effective planning, organization and decision making to achieve Site and Company goals. The incumbent will be responsible for directing, coordinating, and supervising operations and activities within the Site Finance team. This role is hybrid.

Strategic Financial Leadership
  • Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with Bora Pharmaceuticals goals and objectives.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams, to ensure seamless delivery of essential information to enhance financial decision-making processes.
  • Work with Site General Manager and extended leadership to develop the annual budget process as well as budget monitoring and forecasting throughout the fiscal year.
  • Support the Site General Manager to proactively monitor/explain and investigate financial budget variances and prepare accurate and timely monthly financial statements and reports to management.
  • Prepare or review quarterly account reconciliations and year-end audit schedules.
  • Assure budget and cost accounting accuracy.
  • Gain alignment with Site Leadership Team on annual budget allocations.
Reporting
  • Provide timely, accurate financial reporting to multiple parties, including functional, Site Business Unit management, and applicable Bora stakeholders to assist in effective planning, organization, and direction in achieving company goals. Includes review of periodic financial variance analysis compared to prior period, budget and forecast.
  • Develop, maintain and improve systems, controls, and procedures in relation to accounting functions.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the ERP system including establishing and maintaining adequate internal controls and operating procedures as required.
  • Work with external auditors in completion of quarterly and annual financial statement reviews and audits.
Cost Accounting
  • Maintain financial records relating to inventory and cost of sales.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the inventory system in accordance with established internal controls.
  • Review monthly & quarterly supporting schedules / reconciliations for management and audit support.
Financial Planning & Analysis
  • Lead the Financial Planning, Budgeting and Forecasting process for the site.
  • Partner with the Business to deliver proactive, data-driven advice and insightful analyse; develop cost / benefit analyses to aid in decision making
  • Draw on actual results, business outlook, and risks & opportunities in tandem with active collaboration with Corporate Finance and the Business to shape recommendations on forward looking financial forecast.
  • Manage Site longer-term planning activities.
Risk Management
  1. Ensure compliance with all internal policies, performance standards and controls relating to finance and accounting functions.
  2. Participate as key business partner to all Business Units served by the site and identify and act on critical issues/risks and opportunities.
  3. Collaborate with internal auditor on testing and assuring compliance with Bora group/site internal control processes.

Minimum Education, Experience and Skills
  1. Bachelor's degree in accounting, accompanied by a professional accounting designation (CPA) preferred.
  2. Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible accounting experience, with a strong focus on financial reporting and analysis.
  3. 5+ years of experience managing a team, with regular interactions at the senior leadership level.
  4. Strong analytical, financial modeling, and critical reasoning skills.
  5. Extensive experience with SAP/ERP systems and Microsoft Excel as well as good working knowledge of internal controls, and IFRS.
  6. Previous experience in a fast-paced CDMO environment as well as public company experience are assets.
  7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, highly organized, and able to work independently or as a part of a team.
  8. Critical Thinking & Creative Problem Solving: Able to address and overcome complex issues to achieve desired results - includes ability to gather, interpret and use relevant data to drive strategy development, make decisions and define results.
  9. Embracing & Managing Change: Champions and facilitates change and successfully adapts to changing needs while maintaining positive relationships with all internal and external stakeholders

Salary Range: 175,000 -250,000
