Our client, a reputable non-profit organization in Tucson, AZ, is searching for a Director of Finance to oversee financial operations. Reporting to the Executive Director, you will manage grant and federal funding, lead single audits, and ensure accurate financial reporting. This role involves forecasting, budgeting, process improvement, and presenting financial insights to the executive team and board.
Responsibilities:
- Manage grant and federal funding processes, ensuring compliance and optimal fund utilization.
- Lead the coordination of Single Audits, ensure timely submission, compliance with regulations, and readiness for auditor review.
- Prepare and present internal financial reports to the executive team and external stakeholders.
- Conduct forecasting to support strategic planning and decision-making.
- Drive process improvements for enhanced financial operations and efficiency.
- Manage fiscal relations, including contract reviews for favorable terms and compliance.
- Present financial information and insights to the board of directors.
- Develop and oversee budgeting processes, including federal grant budgeting.
- Engage with the executive team for financial guidance and support.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or equivalent experience in grant accounting and funding.
- Proven leadership in financial management.
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Advanced Excel proficiency and strong technical skills.
- Experience in building and mentoring finance teams.
- Expertise in federal funding and grant management.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA or advanced degree in Finance or Accounting.
- Non-profit sector experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
