Job description

As the Director of Finance at Integral Federal, you will lead the company’s finance function and drive sound financial decisions that support growth and compliance. The Director of Finance owns financial planning and analysis, indirect rates, pricing, government contract compliance, and contract financial reporting, and serves as a trusted advisor to executive leadership and the Board of Directors. This is a highly visible, hands‑on leadership role for a strategic finance professional who thrives in a fast‑paced government contracting environment.

This role is based at the company’s McLean, VA headquarters and requires being in the office two to three days per week.

  • Financial Planning & Analysis - Lead the annual budget, rolling forecasts, and long-range plan; own budget vs. actual and variance analysis, key performance indicators, and business performance commentary for executives and the Board of Directors.
  • Indirect Rates & Cost Compliance - Develop, monitor, and forecast fringe, overhead, and G&A rates; set annual rate targets; lead provisional billing rate proposals and incurred cost submissions; and ensure cost allowability under FAR Part 31 and CAS.
  • Pricing & Proposals - Own the company’s pricing model and fully burdened, escalated labor rate buildups using salary survey benchmarks (e.g., ERI); approve cost volumes, including FAR 15.408 Table 15-2 submissions, for GSA MAS, GWAC, and IDIQ pursuits; and ensure Service Contract Act wage compliance.
  • Cost Escalation & Price Justification - Direct BLS index-based escalation analyses (CPI, ECI, PPI) and economic price adjustment requests, producing traceable cost narratives that withstand DCAA and contracting officer review.
  • GSA Schedule Compliance - Oversee GSA Multiple Award Schedule compliance, including Transactional Data Reporting (TDR), Sales Reporting Portal (SRP) submissions, Industrial Funding Fee (IFF) remittance, and Industrial Operations Analyst (IOA) reviews; align sales reporting with ASC 606 revenue recognition.
  • Contract Financials & Program Control - Oversee contract burn rates, estimates at completion (EAC), funding status, and direct labor and ODC performance; partner with program managers to protect margin and flag risk early.
  • Accounting, Close & Reporting - Oversee the month‑end close, revenue recognition, and billing; ensure project revenue in Costpoint reconciles to the general ledger; and deliver accurate, timely financial statements and management reports.
  • Audit & Regulatory Liaison - Serve as the primary point of contact for DCAA, DCMA, GSA, and contracting officers on audits, rates, and pricing matters; lead audit responses, restatements, and corrective actions.
  • Team Leadership - Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, including FP&A staff; set policies, procedures, internal controls, and review standards across the finance function.
  • Systems, Data & Automation - Advance Costpoint functionality, Excel and Power BI reporting, and automation, including generative AI tools, to streamline planning, pricing, and reporting while safeguarding CUI, FCI, and PII.
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of progressive finance experience at a government contracting organization, including 5+ years in a leadership role.
  • Expert knowledge of the FAR (including Part 31 and 15.408), CAS, and DCAA audit requirements, with hands‑on experience developing indirect rates, provisional billing rates, and incurred cost submissions.
  • Proven experience leading budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting for executives and a Board of Directors.
  • Government contract pricing experience, including fully burdened labor rate buildups and cost volumes for competitive proposals.
  • Experience with GSA Schedule compliance, including TDR, SRP, and IFF reporting.
  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), including ASC 606 revenue recognition.
  • Advanced Excel skills, with experience building complex financial, pricing, and operational models.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to advise executives and present to the Board.
Preferred
  • CPA, CMA, or MBA.
  • Advanced experience with Costpoint, including project status and general ledger reporting.
  • Experience with compensation benchmarking (e.g., ERI Salary Assessor) and Service Contract Act wage determinations.
  • Experience preparing BLS index-based escalation and economic price adjustment justifications.
  • Advanced proficiency in Power BI (including DAX) and Power Query for financial dashboards and data automation.
  • Experience using generative AI tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot) to accelerate financial analysis, pricing, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Sound judgment in validating AI-generated outputs for accuracy and in safeguarding CUI, FCI, PII, and proprietary financial data.
